Park hiking trails

The hiking trails at Griggs Reservoir Park are a great way to get outside and enjoy nature. The trails vary in difficulty, so there is something for everyone. There are also several scenic overlooks along the way, which offer beautiful views of the reservoir and the surrounding woods. 

If you’re looking for a challenging hike, try the trail that leads up to the reservoir. It’s a steep climb, but the views are worth it. For a more leisurely hike, try the trail that circles the park. It’s about three miles long and takes about two hours to walk its entirety. 

No matter which trails you choose, be sure to bring plenty of water and snacks, as there are no food vendors in the park. And don’t forget to wear sunscreen and insect repellent, as both are essential during the summer months. 

Griggs Reservoir Park is a great place for a day hike or an overnight camping trip. The park offers plenty of opportunities for exploration and relaxation.  

Fishing in the reservoir park

Fishing in Griggs Reservoir Park is excellent because it has great fishing spots that are easily accessible to anyone with disabilities, including seniors and people who use wheelchairs. The ADA compliant pier makes it easier to access boats from shore or go out on the water using their dock.  

Fishing equipment can be rented for a small fee at the park office. other water activities include jet-skiing and boating. the Griggs Reservoir is perfect for those who want to spend a day out on the water with family or friends doing fun activities together!  

How to get to the Griggs Reservoir Park?

If you’re a greater Columbus local, or just visiting the area for a day, Griggs Reservoir Park is easily accessible by car. The park is located about 15 minutes east of downtown Columbus on State Route 203. There is also a parking lot at the park, which makes it easy to access the trails and fishing areas. 

If you’re taking public transportation, take bus route 12 to the State Route 203 & Sunbury Road stop. It’s about a half mile walk from there, however, it is not recommended for those with disabilities or limited mobility.
