Hayden Falls Park

Hayden Falls Park in Columbus, OH is a beautiful location that offers visitors the opportunity to enjoy waterfalls, hiking trails, and fishing. 

The park offers many activities for visitors of all ages and abilities including:

Major attractions include: 

Waterfalls: There are many beautiful waterfalls throughout the park. Visitors can find them by following paths marked with blue signs. One of the more popular falls is called “Falls Brook.” It’s about five feet high and surrounded by trees on either side. This waterfall is especially scenic when it runs down during rainstorms; otherwise, it’s just a trickle coming from a pipe near its base! Another famous waterfall in this area is called “The Punch Bowl.” It’s about 20 feet high and very impressive!  

Hiking Trails: There are several hiking trails located in Hayden Falls Park. They range in difficulty from easy to moderate, so there’s something for everyone. The “Indian Trail” is a popular choice because it offers great views of the falls. Other trails include the “Winding Trail” and the “Woodlands Trail.”  

Fishing: There are six ponds located throughout the park. They’re stocked regularly with fish like bass, trout, and catfish. Visitors can bring their fishing equipment or rent it from the park’s office for $30 per day of use. Note that this equipment must be returned by closing time.  

Other Attractions: There are a few other attractions at Hayden Falls Park as well. In the summer, there’s canoeing and kayaking on Lake Kineo! Paddlers can rent their one for $75 per day or take out the park’s fleet of boats from its dock. There’s also a playground for kids, as well as picnic areas and shelters.

The park is open year-round, however after it snows the hiking trails are closed. The best time to visit Hayden Falls Park during warmer months is in the early evening since parking can be difficult on weekends when families come to picnic and enjoy the playgrounds.
